Introduction

The Bèrghem Ultra Trail 2018 edition starts at Gåsbu (at the bottom of the Gåsbu hill) and finishes at Persbu kafé by following our GPS track through the Hedmark plateau (Hedmarksvidda). The trail winds its way through primeval forest and along various marked trails (blue/red), as well as marked and unmarked dirt roads. The Hedmark plateau’s landscape is a mix of small mountain peaks, birch and spruce forest. Its challenge lies in the marsh that dominates the whole area. N.B. Don’t be fooled by the low altitude profile because the terrain on the Hedmark plateau (Hedmarksvidda) is one of the toughest in Norway! This race is ITRA-certified.
